I’m not one to look on YouTube for videos on how to draw objects. I’d rather just keep drawing and erasing repeatedly until the canvas is a big mess. I know. I know. Its just how I am. I’d rather do it myself.
That goes for most everything in my life.
I can draw noses better. Took many bad attempts but I think I have them down now. Lips. Nope. My latest attempt at drawing them, with teeth mind you, was one horrifying picture. But I keep practicing and keep trying.
My latest artworks include hands, which I’m desperately trying to get right. I’ve done a few projects now including hands, some are failures in my mind but still bring me closer to achieving my goal.
The gypsy pirate girl with an all seeing eye. Her “parrot” is that of a witches hand. And if you’re thinking that doesn’t make much sense, you’re right. I can’t draw hands backwards to match a characters view. The result isn’t pretty. Plus the fingernails, which I also don’t have down quite yet, look blackened and long. So POOF! A witch’s hand.
Her hair is blue, which dominates most of the canvas, a mistake on my part when I realized she would be a pirate on a ship with a eerie red sky. But at that point her hair was already colored in. Oh well.
